Prime Bank to provide loans to exporters using Bangladesh Bank fund |
|

Prime Bank signed an agreement with Bangladesh Bank recently to disburse loans among exporters from a newly formed Tk.10,000 crore Export Facilitation Pre-finance Fund of the central bank.
Hassan O. Rashid, Managing Director & CEO of Prime Bank and Abdur Rouf Talukder, Governor of Bangladesh Bank, exchanged signed documents of an agreement at Bangladesh Bank head office in Dhaka.

Prime Bank Foundation, a non-profit subsidiary of Prime Bank Limited, has been catering to the healthcare and education needs of the underprivileged for almost two decades.
On the 21st of January, 2023, Prime Bank Foundation arranged its scholarship award-giving ceremony at a local hotel in the capital city. Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, Speaker of Bangladesh National Parliament graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest while Professor Syed Manzoorul Islam, Educationalist was present as the Special Guest. Azam J Chowdhury, Chairman of Prime Bank Foundation, presided over the event. Tanjil Chowdhury, Chairman of Prime Bank, the Directors of Prime Bank, and the CEO of Prime Bank Foundation, Dr. Iqbal Anwar were also present. High officials from Prime Bank and Prime Bank Foundation, the scholarship awardees and their guardians were also in attendance at the event.
One of Prime Bank Foundation’s brilliant initiatives is Education Support Programme (ESP). Operational since 2007, the programme has been providing scholarships to several underprivileged but meritorious students from all over Bangladesh. So far, 4,227 students have received scholarships from Education Support Programme, inclusive of the 260 awardees of 2022.
The awardees of 2022 received scholarships of BDT 2,600 monthly to meet their educational expenses until they graduate. These students have been selected by the Advisory Committee of the Education Support Programme, which consists of Professor M Q K Talukder, Professor Syed Manzoorul Islam & Rashida K Chowdhury.
Besides Education Support Programme, Prime Bank Foundation established Prime Bank Grammar School, Prime Bank Eye Hospital, and Prime College of Nursing, Dhaka. Additionally, the Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding with consultants on the 4th of January, 2023, for building an international standard 500-bed hospital at Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka. The construction of this state-of-the-art hospital will commence shortly and there are plans to establish a medical college too.

Prime Bank donates to Prime Minister’s Ashrayan Project-2 |

As part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Prime Bank has donated Tk.4.00 crore to the Prime Minister’s Ashrayan Project-2 fund for the underprivileged and homeless people of the country.
Prime Bank’s Audit Committee Chairman, Anwaruddin Chowdhury FCA handed over the cheque to the Honorable Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina at the Prime Minister’s Office in Dhaka on 15th January, 2023.

Prime Bank Partners Up with Bangladesh Bank to Provide Refinance Facilities through Digital Nano Loans |

Prime Bank has partnered with Bangladesh Bank for providing Bangladesh Bank’s refinance scheme titled “Refinance Scheme for Digital Nano Loan”. Under this agreement Prime Bank will receive refinancing from Bangladesh Bank against digitally disbursed nano loans. The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at Kazemi Centre, Bangladesh Bank, Dhaka.
Bangladesh Bank has announced the refinance scheme of BDT 100 crore against Digital Nano Loans with an aim to expand the financial inclusion of marginalized population of the country.
Hassan O. Rashid, Managing Director & CEO of Prime Bank and Jayasree Bagchi, Director, Financial Inclusion Department of Bangladesh Bank signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations in presence of Md. Abul Bashar, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank; Md. Iqbal Mohsin, Additional Director, Bangladesh Bank; ANM Mahfuz, DMD & CBO, Consumer Banking, Prime Bank and senior officials of both the organizations.

Prime Bank and the Bangladesh Bank signed an agreement on disbursement of loans under a refinancing scheme worth Tk.5,000 crore for food security of the country.

Prime Bank Foundation Signs MoU with Ehsan Khan Architects Limited to Build 500 Bed Hospital |

|
Prime Bank Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic initiative of Prime Bank Limited, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ehsan Khan Architects Limited for setting up a state-of-the-art Medicare facility at Ashulia, Savar.
The Medicare facility includes a 500+ bed international standard hospital with world-class services for primary & tertiary care, a residential compound, and education facilities for the future doctors & nurses. London-based International Hospitals Group (IHG) conducted the feasibility study for the project, which is expected to be financed by international financiers.
The honorable Chairman of the Prime Bank Foundation Azam J Chowdhury, the Chairman of the Prime Bank Tanjil Chowdhury, and representatives from both organizations were present at the signing event.

Prime Bank wins Mastercard Excellence Awards 2022 |

Prime Bank has recently won the Excellence in Mastercard Debit Business (Domestic) 2021-22 in the ‘Mastercard Excellence Awards 2022’. The award was in light of the commitment to Bangladesh government’s “Smart Bangladesh Vision 2041”.
Prime Bank’s DMD & CBO Consumer Banking, ANM Mahfuz and the Head of Cards & ADC - Business, Masudul Haque Bhuiyan, received the excellence award from the chief guest, Mr. Tipu Munshi, MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Commerce, Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. Md. Khurshid Alam, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank as the Guest of Honor; Vikas Varma, Chief Operating Officer, South Asia, Mastercard and Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager, Bangladesh were also present during the award ceremony.

Prime Bank signs agreement with Ananta Companies Limited |

Prime Bank has recently signed an agreement with Ananta Companies Limited to provide digital nano financing solution to their factory workers through Prime Bank's new app, "PrimeAgrim".
In presence of Hassan O. Rashid, Managing Director & CEO of Prime Bank, the agreement was signed by ANM Mahfuz, DMD & CBO Consumer Banking of Prime Bank and Inamul Haq Khan, Managing Director of Ananta Companies Limited on behalf of their respective organizations. Faisal Rahman, AMD of Prime Bank, M Sajedul Karim, DMD of Ananta Companies Limited and other Senior officials from both the organizations were also present during the signing ceremony held at Prime Bank Head Office in Dhaka.
Under the agreement, factory workers of Ananta Companies Limited will be eligible to receive digital nano loan in only 4 minutes from Prime Bank using newly introduced app "PrimeAgrim". This service will remain available 24/7 irrespective of banking hours.
Prime Bank’s DMD & CBO Consumer Banking, ANM Mahfuz made the following remarks on this partnership: “We are excited to grow our relationship with Ananta Companies Limited. Prime Bank donates blankets to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund |

As part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Prime Bank has donated 100,000 blankets to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund to help the underprivileged people in the upcoming winter season.
Prime Bank’s Audit Committee Chairman, Anwaruddin Chowdhury FCA and Managing Director & CEO, Hassan O. Rashid handed over the blanket to the Honorable Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina at the Prime Minister’s Office in Dhaka on 10th November, 2022.

Prime Bank holds a day long training and awareness program on “Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing” |

Prime Bank’s AML & CFT Division organized a day-long training and awareness program on “AML & CFT Compliance” at a local conference hall in Dhaka City on 22nd October, 2022. The program was inaugurated by Md. Arifuzzaman, the Director of BFIU as the Chief guest. The program was chaired by Md. Ziaur Rahman, DMD & CAMLCO of Prime Bank. Md. Iqbal Hossain, SEVP & Deputy CAMLCO of Prime Bank delivered welcome speech in the program.
A total number of 117 officials including BAMLCOs of 19 branches of Dhaka region-2 of Prime Bank participated in the program. Md. Masud Rana, Additional Director of BFIU and officials of AML & CFT Division of Prime Bank conducted the day-long sessions as Resource Persons. The program consisted of 04 (four) sessions covered various important topics related to combating money laundering and financing of terrorism. An evaluation test for the participants was held at the end of the training program.
