08-Aug-2022 Prime Bank Launches Integrated Online Prepaid Collection Service with DESCO |

Prime Bank & DESCO (Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited) has partnered up for online prepaid electricity bill collection. The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at the DESCO head office situated at Nikunja in Dhaka where officials from both organizations were present.
The agreement between Prime Bank & DESCO will allow customers of DESCO to pay their prepaid electricity bills at their nearest Prime Bank branches and other alternative delivery channels. Through this agreement the transaction will be realized and updated in DESCO database in real time.
Engr. Md. Kausar Ameer Ali, Managing Director, DESCO; Kh Zoherul Islam, Joint Secretary & Executive Director (Finance), DESCO, Engr. A.K.M Mahiuddin, Executive Director (Procurement), DESCO; Shams Abdullah Muhaimin, DMD & Head of Transaction Banking Division, Prime Bank, Mohammad Farhan Adel, Senior Vice President & Head of Cash Management, Prime Bank along with other high officials from both the organizations were also present during the ceremony.

This agreement will allow us to ensure technologically advanced & exceptional customer experience.” Adding to that Shams Abdullah Muhaimin, DMD, Prime Bank said, “Integrating DESCO’s database with Prime Bank’s Branch network & alternative delivery channels will help the customers of DESCO to pay their electricity bills in real time, reduce the hassle & make the whole process convenient. This will help both the organizations on their drive towards improving customer experience.”

20-Jun-2022 PRIME BANK SIGNS REMITTANCE DISBURSEMENT AGREEMENT WITH WAVE FOUNDATION |

Prime Bank Limited has recently signed an agreement with Wave Foundation for disbursing remittance of different international exchange companies. This will be facilitated by 127 branches of Wave Foundation across Bangladesh.
Shams Abdullah Muhaimin, Deputy Managing Director of Prime Bank Limited, and Mohsin Ali, Executive Director of Wave Foundation, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Syed Faisal Omar, Head of Financial Institutions, Prime Bank, Anwar Hossain, Deputy Executive Director, Wave Foundation, and senior officials of both organizations were also present on the occasion.
Under this agreement, Prime Bank will utilize branches of Wave Foundation for payments of remittances channeled from remittance companies to respective beneficiaries. For this, Wave Foundation will get access to relevant processing system for payment of those remittances. In this regard, necessary training will be provided to concerned branch personnel of Wave Foundation to ensure smooth payments while ensuring necessary compliance and due diligence. This handshaking will enhance the number of payment locations for Prime bank while Wave Foundation will be able to serve their customers’ remittance needs.

As popularity of mobile banking service rises, Prime Bank has revamped its mobile banking app and launches MyPrime. With its convenient user interface, MyPrime comes with up-to-date functionalities and exciting features. The user journey of the app is designed to ensure maximum convenience and ease of use for the customers. Customers can enjoy banking services (fund transfers, payments, statements, live chat, top-up, card & account details, service request etc.) from wherever, whenever.

Tanjil Chowdhury has been unanimously re-elected as chairman of Prime Bank for a consecutive term of two-years (2022-24) on the 528th Board Meeting.
He is the Managing Director of East Coast Group (ECG), a diversified conglomerate with more than 43 years of experience in Energy & Downstream Hydrocarbons.
He completed his BA (Hons) in Accounting & Finance with distinction and went on to complete MSc in International Management (Finance) from King’s College London (KCL).
Tanjil Chowdhury is an advisor to British International Investment (BII), formerly CDC Group Plc, UK’s development financial institution, and an impact investor with assets of £7.5 billion across the world in emerging economies.
He was an elected director of Bangladesh Cricket Board for two terms and served as Chairman of the Facilities Management and Age Group Committee of BCB.
Mr. Chowdhury served as President of Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA) for 2014 & 2015 and was the former President of Solar Module Manufacturers Association of Bangladesh (SMMAB). He served as Convener of the Standing Committee on Financial Institutions, Capital Market and Services-2014 and Co-Convener of the Standing Committee on National Energy Strategy for Private Sector Development-2013, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industries (DCCI).
He is also the former Chairman of the Prime Exchange Co. Pte. Ltd., Singapore and former General Secretary of Prime Bank Cricket Club.

Prime Bank has been a long supporter of an inclusive, accessible and sustainable world. In order to achieve that Prime Bank has partnered with Bangladesh Disabled Development Trust (BDDT) and their drive to support Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) for their capacity building and initiate income generating activities, rehabilitation services etc. Prime Bank handed over a cheque to BDDT to bear their cost of training program on the Braille System.
Hassan O. Rashid, Managing Director and CEO of Prime Bank handed over a cheque to Md. Moniruzzaman Khan, Founder and Managing Trustee (CEO) of BDDT. Hassan O. Rashid also handed over a copy of Al-Quran published in the Braille System to a visually impaired person. Along with others Mohammad Firoz Alam, EVP & Head of Credit Risk Management & Sustainable Finance Unit was also present in the program.
Commenting on the occasion, Hassan O. The 27th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Prime Bank Limited was held virtually on May 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the presence of 293 shareholders, Board of Directors, Independent Scrutinizer, auditors, observers, and high officials of the Bank.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Tanjil Chowdhury, Chairman of the Bank, where, amongst others, Executive Committee Chairman Mr. Zaeem Ahmed, Audit Committee Chairman Mr. Anwaruddin Chowdhury FCA, Risk Management Committee Chairman Dr. Sharif M. N. U. Bhuiyan, former Chairman Mr. Azam J Chowdhury, and the Managing Director and CEO Mr. Hassan O. Rashid were present during the meeting.
The shareholders approved a 17.50% cash dividend for the year 2021 along with adoption of Director’s Report & Audited Financials, appointment and reappointment of directors, statutory auditor, and compliance auditor.

After an enormous win in the international Financial Sphere receiving the Analytics & Artificial Intelligence (AI) award- Bronze at the prestigious Efma-Accenture Banking Awards along with other global Financial Institutions, "PrimAgrim" makes its mark in the national frontier with yet another accolade from Bangladesh Innovation Award 2022, in Best Innovation – Finance Category.
Prime Bank’s Head of Consumer Banking Division and DMD, ANM Mahfuz along with PrimeAgrim’s Product owner and Head of Agent & Digital Banking, Md.
