What is Agent Banking?
Agent Banking offers limited banking and financial services to under-served population by engaging representatives under a valid agency agreement.
How to open Agent Banking account?
New Customer can register for an Agent Banking account from any Prime Bank Agent Banking Outlet.
What are the documents required for opening Agent Banking account?
- Valid NID or any other acceptable ID with Photograph
- NID and Photograph of the nominee
Can I deposit and withdraw money immediately after registration?
You can deposit money immediately after registration. However, you can withdraw the amount after your account is approved by the bank official.
Can I get Debit card/ATM Card?
Yes. You can get debit card/ATM card against your Agent Banking account.
Can I get a Cheque book?
Yes. You can get a Cheque book against your Agent Banking account.
How is Prime Bank Agent Banking secured?
Prime Bank Agent Banking is 100% secured. All transactions is authorized by customer’s fingerprint/facial verification.
Can I receive remittance in my Agent Banking account?
Yes. You can receive remittance in your Agent Banking account. You can also withdraw your remittance (spot cash) from any Prime Bank Agent Banking outlet without having an Agent Banking account.
Can I get Profit/Interest?
Agent Banking account holder will get profit/Interest on his/her credit balance on half-yearly/yearly basis at a specific rate of Interest/profit.
Who can work as Agent?
As per Bangladesh Bank Guidelines, the following juristic persons will be eligible to act as Prime Bank agents:
1. Microcredit Authority (Regulated by MFIs of Bangladesh)
2. NGOs (Registered with Social Welfare Directorate)
3. Societies (Registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860)
4. Cooperative Societies (Controlled/supervised under the Cooperative Society Act, 2001)
5. Government offices having branch/unit offices
6. Courier and mailing service companies (Registered under Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications)
7. Companies (Registered under the Companies Act, 1994)
8. Agents of mobile network operators
9. Local government institutions
10. Union Digital Centre (UDC)
11. Agents of insurance companies
12. Any business entity having trade licenses and fulfils the eligibility criteria
13. Any other entity Bangladesh Bank may prescribe or authorize
