Prime Bank Opens 126th Branch at Daulatpur, Khulna
Prime Bank Limited opened its 126th branch at Daulatpur, Khulna on 27th November. Chairman of the Bank Md. Shirajul Islam Mollah inaugurated the branch as the Chief Guest. General Manager of Bangladesh Bank’s Khulna office Shyamal Kumar Das was present at the program as the Special Guest. Managing Director and CEO of the Bank Md. Ehsan Khasru presided over the program while Deputy Managing Director Ahmed Kamal Khan Chowdhury delivered the welcome address. Head of Daulatpur branch Md. Abdur Raafi was also present at the occasion.

In the speech of the Chief Guest, Chairman of the Bank Md. Shirajul Islam Mollah said that Prime Bank has been delivering Islamic banking services along with Conventional banking from the beginning of its operations. He informed that Prime Bank has been contributing in the social development by establishing Prime Bank Foundation. The Foundation has been playing important role in education by providing stipends to the poor but meritorious students every year, in health by setting up eye hospital and in sports by establishing Prime Bank Cricket Club through which it is training up the upcoming & talented cricketers of the country at the International Standards to enhance their skills.

Managing Director and CEO of the Bank Md. Ehsan Khasru said that the use of technology is gradually increasing in the banks. Hence, Prime Bank is enhancing the use of technology based banking services with the demand of time; keeping the new generation in mind the Bank has started technology based services like Mobile Banking and Internet Banking. Besides, the Bank has added “Prime Cash” which is operated by finger prints and voice recognition, for the unbanked people of the country. He added that Prime Bank would launch automated deposit machines along with the ATM booths in near future.

Greeting the guests of the program, Deputy Managing Director of the Bank Ahmed Kamal Khan Chowdhury said Prime Bank believes that the country will become truly progressive when the people of the grass root level will be self dependent; and this is possible by promoting small and medium enterprises. Hence, Prime Bank is currently putting emphasis on SME sector. Moreover, the Bank is also providing various types of agricultural loans.

Spoke on the occasion among the local elites, business representatives and guests were Councillor of Ward#5 of Khulna City Corporation Sheikh Kamruzzaman, renowned businessman & President of Daulatpur Awami League Sheikh Syed Ali, Director of Khulna Chamber of Commerce and Industries & Chairman of F.R Jute Mill Sharif Fazlur Rahman, President of Khulna Press Club & Managing Editor of the Daily Purbanchal Begum Ferdousi Ali, renowned businessmen Alhaj Sheikh Abdul Mannan and Alhaj Sheikh Majnu.

Prime Bank Opens 125th Branch at Mohadevpur, Naogaon
Prime Bank Limited opened its 125th branch at Mohadevpur, Naogaon on 22nd November. Director of the Bank Md. Shahadat Hossain inaugurated the branch as the Chief Guest. Renowned author & poet Dilruba Shahadat and Principal of Jahangirpur Govt. College of Mohadevpur Md. Abdul Matin were present as the Special guests. Managing Director and CEO of the Bank Md. Ehsan Khasru presided over the program while Deputy Managing Director Ahmed Kamal Khan Chowdhury delivered the welcome address. Heads of branches of Rajshahi Region were also present at the occasion.

Inaugurating the branch, Chief Guest of the program Director of the Bank Md. Shahadat Hossain said that the Bank’s actual capital is the trust & confidence of its customers. Prime Bank achieved success wherever it opened its branches because customer service is its primary objective, he added. He informed that Prime Bank has been contributing in the social development by supporting the education, health and sports of the country.

Ehsan Khasru said that the Portfolio of Deposits and Loans of the Bank is very strong; the products and services are planned according to the need of both the old and new generation of customers. He added that “Prime Cash”, the Banking through finger prints was started by the Bank for those who are less familiar with the Banking system.

Prime Bank’s Workshop on ‘Anti-Money Laundering’ in Chittagong
Prime Bank’s Anti Money Laundering Cell of Head office recently organized a workshop on ‘Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing’ at its Chittagong Retail Center. SEVP and Head of Internal Control and Compliance Division Md. Nazim Uddin inaugurated the workshop as the Chief Guest. Deputy Chief Anti Money Laundering and Compliance Officer of the Bank, SVP-Kazi Zillur Rahman presided over the workshop. Bank’s Branch Managers of Chittagong City were present at the inauguration ceremony of the workshop. Anti Money Laundering and Compliance Officers of 25 branches of Chittagong region of the Bank participated at the workshop.

Prime Bank Limited received the award of the Strongest Bank in the Country at the “Strong Rated Bank Award 2012” in recognition to its efficient asset management. Additional Managing Director of the Bank M. Reazul Karim received the award from the former Advisor of the Caretaker Government of Bangladesh Dr. AB Mirza Md. Azizul Islam at a program organized by The Industry held at a local hotel in the city on 17th November.

Prime Bank Launches Printed Version of Newsletter “In Focus”
The first printed version of Prime Bank’s online newsletter “In Focus” was unveiled by the Vice Chairman of Executive Committee of the Bank Tanjil Chowdhury and Managing Director and CEO Md. Ehsan Khasru at a simple ceremony organized at the Gulshan office of the Bank on 25th October. Head of IT Md. Iqbal Hossain, Company Secretary Mohammed Ehsan Habib, Head of Public Relations Ferdousi Sultana, Head of Marketing Md. Tofazzul Hossain, Head of Research and Development Shanila Mehjabin along with the team members of “In Focus” were present at the moment.

It is to be mentioned that Research and Development Division of Prime Bank has been publishing the online newsletter “In Focus” since 2009 that will be published from now onwards in the printed version every month. The “In Focus” is now being published with new ideas and arrangement. As a continued process in contributing our community in intangible manner, the Bank is publishing the monthly newsletter in providing information that matters.

In the changing economic scenario we are experiencing the unfolding of knowledge in the horizon. The economy is showing its ever changing colors with its twist and turns. Apart from the intense competition in the Banking industry, the macro-economic trends, significant policy changes, technology break through, strategic alliance of multinationals reshape the competitive landscape are being shown in the publication.

Prime Bank 7th Women International Rating Chess Ends
The Prize Giving Ceremony of the Prime Bank 7th Women International Rating Chess Tournament-2012 was held on 23rd October at the National Sports Council Auditorium.

Former Ambassador, ex Information Commissioner and President of Chess Federation Muhammad Zamir was the Chief Guest of the program while Deputy Managing Director of Prime Bank Limited Md. Tabarak Hossain Bhuiyan was present at the occasion as the Special Guest. The program was presided over by “National Women’s Chess Champion” and International Master Rani Hamid.

Present among others were General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation Gazi Shayful Tarique and General Secretary of Leonine Chess Club Monjur Hossain Jimmu.

Rani Hamid clinched the championship at the 7th Women International Rating Chess Tournament-2012 by achieving 7 points from same number of games. Woman Fide Master Nazrana Khan Eva from Manikganj stood Second while Jahanara Huq Runu achieved Third Position.

Noteworthy that Prime Bank has been sponsoring Women International Rating Chess tournament for the last seven years and International Rating Chess & International Master Chess Tournaments for the last fourteen years organized by Leonine Chess Club.

Prime Bank Limited opened its 124th branch in Brahmanbaria on 16th October. Chairman of the Bank Md. Shirajul Islam Mollah inaugurated the branch as the chief guest. Additional Managing Director M. Reazul Karim presided over the program while Deputy Managing Director Kanti Kumar Saha delivered the welcome address. Inaugurating the branch, Chairman of the Bank Md. Shirajul Islam Mollah said that Prime Bank has been delivering Islamic banking services along with Conventional banking from the beginning of its operations. He informed that Prime Bank has been contributing in the social development by supporting the education, health and sports of the country by donating 4% of its profits to the Prime Bank Foundation. The Foundation has been playing important role in education by providing stipends to the poor but meritorious students every year, in health by setting up eye hospital and in sports by establishing Prime Bank Cricket Club through which it is training up the upcoming & talented cricketers of the country at the International Standards. Addressing the customers and other stakeholders, Additional Managing Director M. Reazul Karim said that the Deposit and Loan portfolio of the Bank is very strong. He informed that the Bank will provide SME loans to the people of Brahmanbaria. The loan will be gradually enhanced up to 10 crores in course of time, he added. He also said that Prime Bank has started Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, etc. technology based services for the new generation customers of the Bank. Besides, the Bank has also been establishing Exchange Houses to facilitate the NRBs living abroad for sending their remittances in the country safer and faster. Prime Bank Became Best Bank in the 12th ICAB National Award-2011
Prime Bank Limited has received the Best Bank Award from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) on the basis of evaluation of the Presented Accounts and Annual Reports of 2011 in the Private Banking Category. Managing Director and CEO of the Bank Md. Ehsan Khasru received the First Prize for the Best Presented Accounts and Annual Reports of 2011 from the Chief Guest of the prize giving ceremony, Minister of Finance A M A Muhith on 1st October, 2012 at a city hotel.

Prime Bank has won the First Position for nine times since inception of the ICAB award in 2001 and holds the position eight times in a row.

Prime Bank Signs Agreement with Saad Musa City Center (SMCC)
Prime Bank Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saad Musa City Center (SMCC) on 1st October at the SMCC premises at Kuril, Dhaka. CEO and Managing Director of Prime Bank Md. Ehsan Khasru and Managing Director of Saad Musa Group Muhammad Mohsin signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Under the agreement, Prime Bank will set up two ATM booths and one Service Desk at the SMCC; 18 POS Terminals will also be set up at the SMCC to facilitate payments through both Master and VISA cards of Prime Bank. The Bank will also place some branding and displays of its products and services at different visible places of the SMCC, under the agreement.
