Education Support Programme
Education is considered as the key part of a society’s growth and progress. An educated person can significantly contribute to their families and society in various aspects and fields, thus creates a stable and stimulating community. As a forward thinking bank, Prime Bank through its Foundation has shown its commitment to education as a part of its CSR strategy that can pay dividends both to society and the Bank itself. Like many other developing countries, the core issue for education policy makers in Bangladesh have been to increase access to education and boost educational attainment rates. However, tremendous progress has made in these areas over the past decades and as a responsible corporate citizen, in 2007 Prime Bank Foundation has initiated “Education Support Programme”. Under this programme financial supports are provided to underprivileged but meritorious students, in the form of monthly stipends for the persuasion of their graduation/post-graduation in public universities.
Prime College of Nursing, Dhaka
As healthcare remains a major focus, nurses are being thrust into societal leadership roles pertaining to our health and healthcare. Nurses play an essential role in society today by being advocates for health promotion, educating the public and patients on preventing injury and illnesses, participating in rehabilitation, and providing care and support. Prime College of Nursing, Dhaka) was designed to address two issues simultaneously: provide educational (and eventually employment) opportunities for those excluded from high quality medical training due to financial constraints, and to make a contribution to healthcare in Bangladesh by producing highly skilled and capable nurses. The medical sector in Bangladesh is severely restrained by the lack of availability of qualified health workers, making access to healthcare out of reach for the vast majority. The Prime College of Nursing is currently located in a rented premise at Khilkhet, Dhaka, but have plan to shift to its own premises at Ashulia.
Prime Bank Grammar School
Education is backbone of any economy and it has pivotal role in national building and molding superb wings of human resource. CSR, as a strategic practice, is a key to organizational success because it is one of the few practices that can positively impact all three elements of the Triple Bottom Line (Economic, Social, Environment), contributing to a healthy bottom line and long-term sustainability. Over the past decades, Bangladesh has made tremendous progress in education. The net enrollment ratio in elementary education, for instance, now stands at more than 90% compared with 60% in the mid-1980s (per UNESCO data). In 2008 Prime Bank Grammar School was established, an endeavor of Prime Bank Foundation to address an affordable quality education. The grammar school that offered Cambridge curriculum offers affordable tuition fees with quality education. Prime Bank Grammar School ensures better access to education and learning which will have remarkable ripple effects on communities and countries.
Prime Bank Eye Hospital
Prime Bank has always been at the forefront of social responsibility and has been spearheading several projects for the welfare of the underprivileged people in terms of Eye care. Prime Bank Eye Hospital established in 2012 by Prime Bank Foundation, addresses the pressing needs for eye care and ophthalmic health in Bangladesh. Apart from operating the hospital with subsidy for needy people, it also runs screening camps across the country for early detection and prevention of eye problems.
