Prime Bank Joins Bangladesh Bank Refinance Schemes to Support Green Industry and ICT Financing
Prime Bank PLC has signed two Participation Agreements with Bangladesh Bank, becoming a Participating Financial Institution (PFI) under the Refinance Scheme for Green Factory Building and Green Industry and the Refinance Scheme for Development of ICT Sector.
The agreements were signed by Faisal Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of Prime Bank PLC and A K M Nurunnobi, Director, Sustainable Finance Department, Bangladesh Bank, at a ceremony held recently at Bangladesh Bank Head Office. Senior officials from both institutions attended the signing ceremony.
Under the two schemes, Bangladesh Bank provides access to low-cost financing to support the development of green factory buildings and industries, as well as projects in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. As a Participating Financial Institution, Prime Bank will facilitate refinance-supported financing for eligible entrepreneurs investing in sustainable industrial development and ICT-related initiatives.
The participation reinforces Prime Bank’s continued focus on sustainable finance, responsible banking and inclusive economic growth. By joining these schemes, the Bank aims to support entrepreneurs in adopting greener industrial practices, developing environmentally sustainable infrastructure and advancing technology-driven solutions.
